Here we have a very pretty Antique Silver Shoe Horn and Button Hook from the late 1800s. They would be perfect for helping to put shoes on or fasten buttons.
They come in a gift bag and would be a lovely present.
They are a matching pair and were made by Cohen & Charles. They have Sterling Silver handles and were Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1897.
They have a lovely elaborate design to their handles with a blank cartouche on one side. The hook and horn are made with steel.
The Silver is shiny with tarnish which helps to show the beautiful pattern. The steel has a little deterioration, particularly at the end of the horn which can be seen in the photos. It wouldn’t affect it’s use.
They are a smaller size pair, with the button hook measuring 16.3cm (6 3/8 inches) in length. The shoe horn measures 16.5cm (6 1/2 inches).
