This is a beautiful vintage Sterling Silver Thimble from the 1960s. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present for someone who enjoys sewing.
It was made by James Swann and Son and it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1963. The makers mark, hallmarks and size 5 are on the side of the thimble.
It’s made of shiny Sterling Silver with very pretty floral design all around the sides and top and a rim around the base. It’s in very good condition with a little tarnish in the design which helps to show it well.
It weighs 6.2g and measures 2.3cm in height (7/8 inch). The diameter is 1.8cm (nearly 3/4 inch) and it’s size 5.
