Vintage Letter Opener

This is a very pretty vintage silver plated letter opener or paper knife featuring a beautiful gemstone in the handle. It comes in a gift bag and would be a very special, unique present.

The letter knife has a pointed blade and a beautifully designed claw handle holding a green nephrite jade gemstone. It’s most likely South East Asian in origin. The detailing to the claw is simply stunning.

Condition

The silver plate has worn away at several places showing the brass underneath and this has been taken into account when pricing. It would still work very well as a letter opener.

It measures 12cm in length (4 3/4 inches).
