This is a lovely Sterling Silver Pen Knife from the 1960s. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present for a Wedding Anniversary or a Birthday.
It was made by Cohen and Charles and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1965.
It has two blades made of Stainless Steel and a Sterling Silver handle. The larger blade has Lublim Soligen Germany on one side and MER Rostfrei Stainless on the other, and both blades are made of good quality Stainless Steel. Both snap back well into the handle.
The handle has a pretty engineered design and a blank cartouche on one side. The hallmarks and maker’s marks are on both sides and it has a loop at the end with Made in England on, so it can be attached to a chain or cord.
It’s in very good condition. The blades are shiny with just one tiny nick in the larger one. The Sterling Silver handle has the odd scratch and a little bit of tarnish which helps to show the design.
It measures 16.8cm when both blades are open (just over 6 5/8 inches). The handle measures 7.9cm (just over 3 inches). It weighs 24g.
