This is a lovely Vintage Solid Silver Sugar Caster or Sifter from 1960. It's a glass sugar shaker with a silver top and would be perfect to use to sprinkle sugar, icing sugar or cocoa.
It comes in a lovely presentation bag and would be a great gift for someone who enjoys baking cakes or drinking cappuccinos.
The diamond shaped bottle is made of crystal glass and has a beautiful design all around the sides. The lid is a pretty bell shape with lovely star sprinkle holes all around it. On one side it clearly has the makers mark and Hallmarks.
It was made by Preece & Williscombe and its Hallmarked for London 1960.
It's in good condition with just some tiny chips to the crystal glass design which aren't obvious unless you are examining it closely, and the inside rim is very slightly rough but this wouldn't affect it's use. The lid is shiny Sterling Silver with a bit of tarnish and it has a very small dent on one side.
