This is a lovely pair of matching solid silver candlestick holders, perfect for using at a dinner table or on a mantelpiece. They would be a great present for a birthday or housewarming.
The mid century candlesticks are made of solid Sterling Silver and have a pretty design and the maker’s mark and hallmarks on the sides. They are a shorter size so would be ideal to place on a mantelpiece or have in the centre of a table at a dinner.
They were made by Joseph Gloster Ltd and were hallmarked in Birmingham in 1961. It has patent no 325841 stamped on both bases. This was a patent registered by Joseph Gloster for cladding a Bakelite mould with a layer of Sterling Silver to create silver tableware.
The silver is shiny with a little tarnish and a few very small dents to the rims. They’re in good condition.
Together their total weight is 234g and each measures 8cm in height (3 1/8 inches).
