Vintage 1935 Small Sterling Silver Case

This is a pretty small vintage solid silver case from the 1930s. It would be perfect for carrying small items in. It comes in a lovely presentation bag and would be a great gift.

It has a lovely Art Deco style pattern to the lid and base. In the corner of the lid there's a blank rectangular cartouche.

The hinge and clasp work well. Inside is a bright gilded interior and two blue elastic straps. There are a few tiny discolouration spots to the gilding. The Hallmarks are on both the lid and base.

It was made by Smith and Bartlam and is Hallmarked for Birmingham 1935.

It is shiny with a little tarnish in places to help show the detail. There are a number of dents that show its character and vintage charm. Most dents are very small with a couple of slightly larger ones.

It weighs 42.5g.

The exterior measurements are 5.7cm by 8cm (2.25 inches by 3.1 inches). The depth is 1.1cm (0.4 inches).
