This is a very pretty Sterling Silver Tea Strainer, perfect for using with loose tea to strain the leaves. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present for a tea lover.
The tea strainer or tea sieve has a beautifully designed pierced handle and an arm to rest on cups or mugs. It features a lovely deep bowl to catch tea leaves.
It was made by Barker Brothers Silver and it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1930. The maker’s marks and hallmarks are on the back of the handle.
The silver is shiny with some tarnish. The handle is slightly curved to one side and there are a lot of dents to the sieve bowl and the rim of the sieve.
It’s quite solid, weighing 40g. It measures 15.3cm in length (6 inches).
