This is a pretty Antique Solid Silver Case from the 1920s. It would be ideal for storing small items in such as jewellery. It comes in a lovely presentation bag and would be a great gift.
The exterior is shiny Sterling Silver. It has the initials MIL elaborately engraved in the centre of the lid.
The hinge and clasp work well. Inside is a gilded interior with the Hallmarks on the inside of both the lid and base.
It was made by S Blanckensee and Son Ltd and is Hallmarked for Birmingham 1924.
It's a lovely case with lots of character. There are quite a few dints to the lid and base, particularly around the edges and corners.
The inside has quite a few marks to it which all adds to the history of it.
It weighs 66.5g.
It measures 6.2cm by 8.3cm (2 3/8 inches by 3 1/4 inches). The depth is 1.5cm (0.5 inches).
