This is a very pretty Antique Sterling Silver Salt Spoon from the 1910s. It would be lovely to use with salt, pepper or other condiments.
The antique silver spoon was made by James Deakin & Sons and it was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1919. The maker’s mark and hallmarks are on the back of the bowl.
It features a beautiful and detailed Art Deco design to the handle and an oval shape to the bowl.
The silver is shiny but there’s some deterioration to it on the inside of the bowl and a couple of patches on the edge of the base of the bowl. These can be seen in the photos and have been taken into account when pricing. It wouldn’t affect it’s use.
It weighs 5g and measures 7.8cm in length (just over 3 inches).
It would be a lovely present and a small gift bag can be bought separately here to put it in: Beeches Vintage gift bags
