Pair of Sterling Silver Candlestick Holders, 1970s Hallmarks

Here we have a beautiful pair of vintage solid silver candlestick holders. They are squat or dwarf candlesticks, perfect for using on a dinner table or mantelpiece.

They were made by SJ Rose and Son and were Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1972.

The candlesticks are beautifully designed with a dotted ring near the base and an elegant shape to the necks. They are a perfect size, shorter so they wouldn’t over dominate a dinner table. They have green felt bases so they sit well on surfaces without marking.

They’re in very good condition. The silver is shiny with one slight indentation around the edge of the base.

They are filled and together they weigh 162g. . They each measure 7cm in height (2 3/4 inches). The candle holders take candles up to 22mm width (7/8 inch) and the base diameter measures 6.8cm (2 5/8 inches).
