This is a beautiful, small antique bivalve shell box or case. It’s very pretty and would be perfect for storing a couple of small items in.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present.
The box is beautifully made from highly polished bivalve shell and shows all the lovely colours and textures shell has. It has a brass hinge and clasp mechanism that fastens to keep the contents inside.
It’s in good condition. The clasp at the front fastens the lid and base together but there is a small gap, as you would expect from something that’s made from a natural product.
It measures 6.7cm in length (nearly 2 5/8 inches). The maximum width is 2.4cm (nearly 1 inch).
