Here we have a lovely Sterling Silver Picture Frame from the 1980s. It’s a lovely vintage style and would look fantastic displaying a favourite photo or picture.
It was made by Keyford Frames of Frome, Somerset and it was hallmarked in London in 1984.
The frame is made of shiny Sterling Silver with the hallmarks and maker’s mark in the right hand corner. The silver has a pretty reed and bow design around the edge and a velvet edging that adds to the antique look.
It has a glass cover and an arm at the back so it can stand on a table or shelf.
The beige velvet on the back and around the edges is discoloured from age and use, which adds to the aged look. The glass has a scratch to it although this can’t be seen when the glass is in the frame. The silver is shiny with some tarnish which helps to show the design and the arm has been repaired at the top where it attaches to the back.
The picture frame measures 25.5cm by 19.8cm (10 inches by 7 3/4 inches). The aperture measures 19cm by 13cm (7 1/2 inches by 5 1/4 inches).
