This is a beautiful antique wooden snuff box from the Victorian 1800s. It would be perfect for storing small items in.
It comes in a lovely green gift bag and would be a fantastic present.
The rectangular box is made of wood and coated in black lacquer. The lid is hinged and features a very pretty hand painted design with a dark gold brushed pattern in the centre with a line around the edge.
The hinge works well. The lid stays firmly shut so it could be used for travelling.
Condition
There’s a bit of a texture to the black lacquer on the lid which adds to the antique look. There’s a very faint crack to the lacquer at the front near the bottom edge which can be seen if you look very closely, but this wouldn’t affect it’s use and doesn’t seem to go all the way through the box.
Size
It measures 7.1cm by 4cm (2.75 inches by 1.5 inches) with a depth of 2cm (0.75 inches).
