This is a lovely Antique Sterling Silver Fruit Knife from the early 1900s. It'd be ideal for slicing pieces of apple or pears and would be a great present for a Birthday or Anniversary. It comes in a gift bag.
It was made by William Needham and it was Hallmarked in Sheffield in 1911.
The knife has a Sterling Silver blade and has the makers mark and Hallmarks on one side. The handle is lovely Mother of Pearl. The blade folds back into the handle. It is a little stiff but folds back neatly.
The blade is shiny with some tarnish. It's slightly curved but this shouldn't affect its use. The Pearl handle has a couple of slightly rough edges which aren't very obvious.
It's a smaller fruit knife, measuring 8.3cm when fully open (3 1/4 inches). It measures 5.2cm in length when closed (2 inches).
