This is a very pretty Antique Sterling Silver Pin Tray or Dish from the Edwardian early 1900s. It would be ideal for using for decor or storing small items in such as jewellery.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present.
The tray is made of Sterling Silver and has a stunning Repousse cherub design in the centre. It’s beautifully made, showing five cherubs in intricate detail. The hallmarks and maker’s mark are below the cherubs. It was made by Henry Matthews and it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1903.
The silver is shiny with a little patina which helps show the design and on the underside of the tray. There’s a split to the silver on the base at one side. This isn’t noticeable at all and can only be felt when pressing down heavily on the centre of the tray.
It measures 12cm by 6.5cm at its widest point (4 3/4 inches by just over 2 1/2 inches). It weighs 28g.
