This is a lovely Antique Silver Plated Salt Spoon from the 1800s. It’d be ideal for serving salt, mustard or other condiments at a meal.

It comes in a gift bag and would be a lovely present.

The spoon is a fiddle shape with a pretty lined design to the handle. At the top it has the initials WC elaborately engraved in gothic style. The design is of the early 1800s Georgian era.

On the back of the handle it has the pseudo hallmarks which were very popular in the 1800s until they were made illegal in 1896. The maker’s mark is worn but is likely to be GS. It also has A imprinted on the neck of the spoon.

Condition

It has a little tarnish in the lined pattern on the handle and a couple of tiny spots in the bowl. There is a very tiny dent to the edge of the bowl at the front.

Size

It measures 11cm in length (just over 4 1/4 inches).
