This is an absolutely stunning Antique Art Deco Solid Silver Pill Box or Pill Case from the 1910s. It’s a larger case and would be ideal for storing small items of jewellery or vitamins in.
It comes in a lovely gift bag and would be a very special present.
It’s made of shiny Sterling Silver and has a very pretty spiral Art Deco design to the lid with a dotted pattern to the edge. The lid lifts to show a lovely gold washed interior.
It was made by Cohen and Charles and it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1919. The maker’s mark, hallmarks and number 9 are on the side of the box.
It’s in good condition with a little tarnish which helps to show the beautiful design. There is a small dent in the lid which is shaped as a line and can be seen in the photos but this isn’t particularly obvious when looking at it.
It’s a larger size pill box. It weighs 33g and measures 6.1cm diameter (nearly 2 3/5 inches). The depth is 2.3cm (nearly 1 inch).
