This is a lovely Antique Sterling Silver Serving or Table Spoon from the Georgian era. It would be a very special spoon to use to serve vegetables or desserts.
The spoon is made of shiny Sterling Silver and is the Old English design which was created in the mid 1700s and was very popular then. It’s an elegant shape with a tapered handle and oval shaped bowl.
It was made by George Smith III and William Fearn and it was hallmarked in London in 1788. The hallmarks and makers marks are on the back of the handle.
It’s in very good condition. It weighs 61g and measures 21.8cm in length (just over 8 1/2 inches).
