This is a very pretty Antique Silver Plated Sauce Ladle. It's medium sized with a lovely deep bowl and pouring hole to elegantly serve sauces or gravy.
It was made by Cailar Bayard, well known French Silversmiths who produced high quality silverwarre. They were manufacturing from 1845 to 1934 and this ladle dates from the early 1900s.
It has a pretty bowl with a shaped lip and a pouring hole in the centre. The makers marks and logo are within the bowl. The handle has a rat tail design and on the back it has BLE and SGDG imprinted and the initials AR engraved.
Condition
It's in good condition. The Silver Plate is shiny with a little tarnish and scratches. There is one tiny patch of deterioration to the back of the bowl which can be seen in the photos and wouldn't affect it's use
Size
It’s a medium sized ladle, perfect for serving sauces, cream or gravy. It measures 23cm in length (9 inches).
