This is a pretty Antique Solid Silver Thimble from the late 1800s. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present for someone who enjoys sewing or collecting needlework accessories.

It was made by John Culver and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham between 1887 and 1902. Unfortunately the date letter is too worn to read.

It’s made of Sterling Silver and has a dot pattern at the end. It has a very pretty engraved design around the middle and a scalloped pattern around the end.

The silver is shiny with tarnish in the pattern which helps to show it well. There are a number of dents at the top of the thimble including one larger one and a hole at the end. This has been taken into account when pricing.

It weighs 3.7g. The circumference is a fraction over 50mm (2 inches) and the diameter is 15mm (5/8 inch). The height is 22mm (7/8 inch).
