This is a pretty Antique Charles Horner Dorcas Thimble from the late 1800s. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present for someone who enjoys sewing or collecting needlework accessories.
It’s stamped with CH, Dorcas and 8. It was made by Charles Horner and is size 8. The thimble has a honeycomb waffle pattern.
Charles Horner’s Dorcas thimbles were patented in 1884. They were made using a sandwich of steel and Sterling Silver layers to make them stronger.
The thimble measures 2.3cm in height (just under 1 inch).
