Here we have a lovely Antique Cake Knife from the 1920s. It would be perfect for using as a wedding cake knife or for serving cakes when entertaining friends.
It has a solid Sterling Silver collar with Hallmarks for Sheffield 1924. It was made by James Arthur Scholes.
The blade is stainless steel and it has this imprinted on the blade along with a pretty elegant “Cake Knife” inscribed. It has a pointed end and a serrated top edge so it is perfect to use as a cake cutting knife but also to take a slice out to put on a plate. The handle is smooth cream coloured plastic which was popular in the 1920s.
It’s a lovely vintage design and is in good condition. The blade and handle have some scratches commensurate with age.
It measures 25.5cm in length (10 inches). The blade length is 15cm (just under 6 inches).
