These are very pretty Antique Solid Silver Sugar Tongs or Sugar Nips. They're very elegant and would be a great way to serve sugar lumps or other small items of food.
They come in a gift bag and would be a lovely present for a tea or coffee lover.
The tongs are elegantly designed. They are made of shiny Sterling Silver and have the Hallmarks and Makers Mark on the inside of one arm.
At the end it has initials engraved which look like MC.
They were made by James Deakin & Sons and are Hallmarked for Sheffield 1922.
They have a bit of patina which adds to the antique look. If you look closely you can see the tongs have been repaired at the end with the initials and this has been reflected in the price. It wouldn't affect it's use and would look fantastic at a table when serving morning coffee or afternoon tea.
The tongs weigh 14.7g. The measure 9.1cm in length (nearly 3 5/8 inches).
