This is a beautiful large Antique Solid Silver Box from the early 1920s. It’s a larger size box, perfect for storing keepsakes or other items in.
It’s made of shiny Sterling Silver. The hinge works well and the lid lifts to show a fully lined Cedar Wood interior. The lid has the initials CSD and the date 28/6/23 in one corner which adds to it’s history.
It was Hallmarked in London in 1922. The maker’s mark is worn.
It’s in good condition. There are a few dents to the lid of the box, particularly around the edge of one side and a couple on the front. There are some scratches commensurate with age in places.
It’s a larger size box with a total weight of 555g. It measures 20cm by 8.8cm (7 7/8 inches by 3 3/8 inches). The height is 4.8cm (1 7/8 inches).
