Here we have a beautiful Antique Silver Jewellery or Rings Box from the early 1900s. It would be ideal to store a few items of jewellery such as rings, earrings or small pendant necklaces.

It comes in a gift bag and would be a fantastic present.

It was made by Synyer and Beddoes and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1919.

It’s made of Sterling Silver with a pretty pattern around the edge of the lid. In the centre of the lid it has Cricklewood, Long Jump (over 14), 1921. Cricklewood is an area of London and it would’ve been given as a prize for an athletics competition which all adds to the charm and history of the box.

It stands on four elegant legs. The lid lifts to show a blue/purple velvet interior and a gilded inner lid.

The Silver is shiny with some tarnish, particularly on the legs which helps to show the beautiful detailing. The hinge works well but has a very slight split to the Silver where it attaches to the box. It is secure and wouldn’t affect its use. The lid shuts but doesn’t sit completely flush with the base. The velvet lining is worn in places as you’d expect for an antique item.

It weighs 89g.

It measures 8.8cm by 5.7cm (3 3/8 inches by 2 1/4 inches). The height measures 4.4cm (nearly 1 3/4 inches).
