Beeches Vintage
Here we have a beautiful set of six Antique Solid Silver Side Knives from the early 1900s, perfect to use for spreading butter, jam, cheeses or condiments for breakfast or afternoon tea. They come in their original presentation box and would be a great present.
This traditional butter knife set has beautifully designed Sterling Silver handles featuring a dotted pattern around the edge and lovely elegant floral detailing at the ends. The blades are Silver Plated.
It was made by Charles William Fletcher and Son and it was Hallmarked in Sheffield in 1915. The Hallmarks and maker’s marks are on the handles.
The Silver is shiny with a little tarnish. There is a little deterioration to the silver plate at the joint between the blade and the handle of a couple of knives but this can only be seen when examining it very closely and wouldn’t affect it’s use.
There’s a very small gap between the blade and handle on one knife but it is very secure. Overall the set is in very good condition.
Each knife measures 17.3cm in length (just over 6 3/4 inches).
