This is a very pretty Antique Folding Fruit Knife with a Sterling Silver blade. It would be ideal for cutting pieces of pears or apples.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a lovely present for a birthday or anniversary.
The fruit knife has a Sterling Silver blade and a beautiful Mother of Pearl handle that has a very pretty design on both sides. It has a rectangular cartouche with the initials MA engraved on it. It has a lovely lined design to the collar.
The blade folds neatly into the handle and the back has a very pretty design to it.
It was made by William Briggs and hallmarked in Sheffield in 1844.
Condition
It’s in very good condition with the silver shiny. The tip is slightly rough at the very end.
Size
It’s a medium sized fruit knife, measuring 12cm when the blade is fully open (4 3/4 inches), and 6.2cm when closed (2 5/8 inches). It weighs 14g.
