This is a very pretty large Antique Folding Fruit Knife with a Sterling Silver blade. It’s a larger size fruit knife and would be ideal for cutting pieces of pears or apples.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a lovely present for a birthday or anniversary.
The fruit knife has a Sterling Silver blade and a beautiful Mother of Pearl handle that has a very pretty design on both sides. It has a rectangular cartouche with the name TH Cleave engraved on it.
The blade folds neatly into the handle and the back has a very pretty design to it.
It was made by Thomas Marples and hallmarked in Sheffield in 1847.
Condition
It’s in very good condition. The silver is shiny with the odd faint spot of tarnish.
Size
It’s a large fruit knife, measuring 15.9cm when the blade is fully open (6 1/4 inches), and 9cm when closed (just over 3 1/2 inches). It weighs 30g.
