This is a beautiful Antique Sterling Silver Bowl or basket with a handle from the early Edwardian 1900s. It would be perfect for serving sweets in or putting small items in.
The basket is and has a beautiful pierced pattern to the sides and a lovely elegant arched handle. It has a detailed pattern to the rim and handle. It's made of Sterling Silver and the Hallmarks are just below the rim on the inside of the bowl.
There is a 2nd nearly identical basket in the shop.
It was made by William Hair Haseler and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1909. It also has Registered Design no 554924 imprinted on one of the baskets.
The basket is in good condition with the silver shiny. There is some tarnish in the pattern which helps to show the detailing and a few dots of tarnish to the inside of the bowl.
It weighs 53g.
It measures 9cm in height to the top of the handle (3 1/2 inches). The diameter is 10.4cm (4 1/8 inches), and the depth of the bowl is approx 3.3cm (1 1/4 inches).
