Here we have a beautiful Antique Sterling Silver Dressing Table Box from the early 1900s. It would be ideal for storing small items of jewellery or cuff links.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a fantastic present.
It was made by Elkington & Co Ltd and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1906. The makers mark and Hallmarks are on the base of the box.
The box is made of shiny Sterling Silver. It has a pretty edging pattern to the lid and the paste. The hinge works well and the lid lifts to show a beautiful gilded interior.
There are a number of small dents to the box lid which can be seen in the photos. Theres three more very small dents to the sides and one scratch at the back. The interior has quite a lot of marks.
It weighs 135.8g.
It measures 11.9cm by 6.2cm (4 5/8 inches by nearly 2 1/2 inches). The height is 3.4cm (just over 1 1/4 inches).
