Here we have a pretty Antique Fruit Knife with a solid Sterling Silver blade made in the Edwardian early 1900s. It would be ideal for cutting fruits such as apples and pears.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a lovely present for a birthday, Christmas or an anniversary.
It has a folding Sterling Silver blade and a beautifully smooth mother of pearl handle. The blade folds neatly back into the handle. The mother of pearl has a very pretty engraved design and it has a blank oval cartouche on one side.
It was made by John Yeomans Cowlishaw and it was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1906.
Condition
It’s in good condition. The collar has a little tarnish and there is a very tiny chip to the very end of the handle on one side but this can only be seen with a microscope.
Size
It measures 12.4cm when the blade is fully open (4 7/8 inches) and 7.3cm when closed (2 7/8 inches).
