Here we have a pretty Antique Fruit Knife with a Solid Silver blade made in the Edwardian early 1900s. It would be ideal for cutting soft fruits such as apples and pears.

It comes in a gift bag and would be a lovely present for a birthday, Christmas or an anniversary.

It has a silver blade and a beautifully smooth mother of pearl handle. It has a shield cartouche on one side with the initials AM elaborately engraved.

The blade has the maker’s mark and hallmarks on one side. It was made by Mappin Brothers and it was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1904.

Condition

The mother of pearl handle is beautifully smooth and shows all the textures natural pearl shell has. The blade has the very tip missing, some scratches and a number of kinks to the blade and this has been reflected in the price.

Size

It’s a smaller size knife, measuring 9.5cm when the blade is fully open (3 3/4 inches) and just under 6cm when closed (2 3/8 inches).
