Antique 1902 Embossed Solid Silver Pill Box

This is a very pretty Edwardian Sterling Silver Pill Box or Pill Case from the early 1900s. It would be ideal for storing small items of jewellery or vitamins in.

It comes in a lovely green cotton gift bag and would be a great present.

It’s made of Sterling Silver and has a beautiful embossed design all around the sides. It’s round and has the makers mark and hallmarks on the base. It has a hinged lid which opens well and lifts to show a beautiful gilded interior.

It was made by Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders and Frank Shepherd. It was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1902.

The silver is shiny with a little tarnish in the pattern and the inside which helps to show the detailing. It has a rounded base so it doesn’t sit flat on a surface. 

It weighs 15.5g and measures 4.5cm diameter (1 3/4 inches). The height is 2.8cm (just over 1 inch).
