This is a beautiful Antique Sterling Silver Salt Bowl from the 1800s. It would be ideal to use as a salt pot or as a small bowl to store rings or other items in.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present.
This beautiful antique silver salt has a pretty fluted pattern all the way around, initials JIB in an elegant design on one side and the interior gilded. The base has the hallmarks and a slightly worn maker’s mark which is Mappin and Webb. It was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1887.
It's in very good condition. The silver is shiny, there’s one dot of wear to the gilding in the centre and one very small dent on the side.
It weighs 25g. The diameter is 5.2cm (2 inches). The depth is 3cm (1 1/4 inches).
