Antique 1897 Silver Button Hook

Here we have a pretty Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Button Hook. It would have originally been a button hook to fasten shoes. It's quite long and would be ideal to use to fasten hard to reach buttons or as a zipper puller. It's a lovely collectors item.

The handle is made of Solid Silver and has a very pretty design to it. The hook is made of carbon steel and has Steel imprinted on the side of it. 

The makers mark and Hallmarks are a bit worn but it was made by Deakin and Francis and Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1897.

The Silver handle is shiny with a bit of tarnish which helps to show the beautiful design. There's a slight gap on one side of the handle where the Silver meets the steel but it is secure. It does mean the handle is very slightly tilted to one side but this is only visible when looking down on the hook and wouldn't affect its use.

It measures 24.5cm in length (9 5/8 inches).
