Here we have a very beautiful Antique Sterling Silver Butter Knife from the 1800s. It would be a lovely way of serving butter at a dinner party.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present.
It was made by Hilliard & Thomason and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1888.
The blade has a very pretty etched pattern of leaves on one side and a dot design around the edge and on the back. The handle is beautifully smooth Mother of Pearl with a few light scratches to the end.
The Silver has a bit of tarnish and there is a slight dint to one side of the blade near the collar. Its in good condition.
It measures 14.5cm in length (just under 5 3/4 inches).
