Antique 1848 Silver Plated Candle Snuffing Scissors

This is a lovely find! Its an Antique Silver Plated Candle Snuffing Scissors from the mid 1800s. It come is a lovely gift bag and would be a great present.

It was made by Elkington Mason & Co and was made in 1848. It has their Makers Mark and the date number 8 which Elkington used for 1848.

The Scissors have three feet and a pointed end, with the letters LM engraved on it.

The Silver Plate is shiny. There are quite a few places with wear to the plate and tarnish which adds to the Antique look. There is a little bit of deterioration in the inside of the box area on the scissors. The front leg has a little bit of movement but it's still very stable on its legs.

It measures 17.2cm in length (6 3/4 inches).
