Here we have a beautiful Antique Sterling Silver Dessert Spoon from the early 1800s. It’d be ideal for eating desserts or serving food. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present for a birthday or anniversary.
The silver dessert spoon has a rat tail design to the base of the bowl and is a lovely fiddle pattern shape to the handle. It’s made of Sterling Silver and was hallmarked in Dublin in 1813. It was made by Thomas Townsend, a very well known Irish silver flatware maker.
The top of the handle features a lovely engraved motif of a hand holding an antler.
Condition
It’s in good condition with the silver shiny. There are a few scratches halfway up the handle that can be seen in the photos.
Size
It weighs 29g and measures 17.9cm in length (7 inches).
