1984 Russian Miniature Painting Box

This is a beautifully made Russian Hand Painted Wooden Box, perfect for storing small items in. 

It was made in Khuluy in 1982 and has a Certificate of Authenticity.

It comes in a lovely presentation bag and would be a perfect gift.

The lid features a hand painted scene from The Malachite Casket folk tale. Around the edges and sides it has pretty gold detailing. On the base it has Made in the USSR.

Inside is painted a bright red enamel.

It is in good condition. There are no cracks or chips to the box. There is a tiny patch of wear to the varnish on the lid and a couple of small patches of wear to the varnish over the red enamel inside.

It would make a fantastic and very special gift.

It measures 6.8cm diameter (Just under 2.75 inches). The depth is 2.5cm (1 inch).
