This is a beautiful Russian Hand Painted Wooden Box from Fedoskino. It’s a lovely collector’s item and would be great for storing small items in.
It comes in a lovely presentation bag and would be a perfect gift.
It was made in 1984 and has a Certificate of Authenticity. It is hand painted and signed.
The lid has a lovely miniature painting of a boy with the Firebird. It has stunning detailing. The sides and base are coated in black lacquer with a gold trim around the sides.
The base has Made in the USSR and name of the design. The bottom of the painting has the artist’s name and date.
The hinge works very well and the interior of the box is red enamel.
It is in good condition. There is the odd chip to the black lacquer but overall it has been very well looked after.
It measures 16cm by 6.8cm (6.25 inches by 2.6 inches). The depth is 4cm (1.6 inches).
