This is a very pretty Russian Hand Painted Lacquer Box from the 1980s featuring a beautiful miniature painting on the lid. These small trinket boxes are highly collectible and it would be great for keeping small items in or putting on display.
The lid features a figurine painting of a scene of the Tale of The Golden Cockerel. Around the sides and base it has a black lacquer finish. On the base it has a sticker with Made in the USSR and Apt 21 on.
It is signed with the artist’s name and details which makes it even more special.
Inside is painted a bright red enamel.
It comes in a lovely presentation bag and would be a perfect gift.
Condition
It is in very good condition with no cracks or chips and just a little scuffing to the enamel on the base.

The external measurements are 9.4cm by 3.5cm (3.75 inches by 3.5 inches). The depth is 2.7cm (just over 1 inch).
