Here we have a lovely Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Crown in a perspex case. It would be a lovely birthday gift for someone born in 1977 or as a collectors item.
In 1977 Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Silver Jubilee which was 25 years on the throne, and The Royal Mint marked the occasion by producing a commemorative crown.
One side of the coin featured a portrait of the Queen in Guards uniform and on horseback, which was similar to the design of the 1953 Coronation crown.
The other side has an eagle along with a ceremonial spoon which was used to anoint the sovereign at the coronation. The design also shows the Crown and flowers of the United Kingdom.
The coin was designed by Arnold Machin, the sculptor most famous for his portrait of the Queen that appeared on coins from 1968. The coin is held in a black frame.
The coins in the perspex case was distributed by National Westminster Bank and it has their name and logo imprinted on the back.
Its in good condition with some scratches to the case.
