This is a highly collectable 1965 Sir Winston Churchill Crown Coin. It comes in a Perspex case and gift bag and would be a lovely present, particularly for someone who was born in 1965 or collects Churchill memorabilia.
The coin was issued to commemorate the death of Sir Winston Churchill and is uncirculated.
The case is black and has 1874 1965, Sir Winston Churchill, Commemorative Crown written in silver.
The large coin features a portrait of Winston Churchill with Churchill written next to it. The reverse side has a Queen Elizabeth II head profile and says Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina FD 1965.
The Winston Churchill Crown was the first ever UK coin to depict a figure other than someone in the Royal Family. Its a lovely collectors item.
The coin is in good condition. The Perspex case has a number of scratches to it as to be expected with a vintage item and there is a very slight roughness to one corner. The sliding Perspex lid removes so you can remove the coin from the frame easily.
This item was beautiful, authentic and delivered extremely promptly. Catherine was a delight to deal with, and I was very honoured to be able to purchase a piece of her family history.
