Beeches Vintage
This is a great collector’s item! It’s a commemorative coin issued to celebrate the Festival of Britain in 1951. It would be the perfect gift for someone who was born in 1951 or who is interested in British history.
The Festival of Britain was a major national exhibition held in the Summer of 1951. It was a celebration of British science, technology, industrial design, architecture and the arts and had millions of visitors.
The coin was produced by the Royal Mint in 1951. It is a five shilling coin with King George VI on the back. It is in a green presentation box and comes with the original Festival of Britain paperwork and a gift bag.
The coin is in very good condition. There is some wear to the box.
The box measures 7cm by 6.8cm (2 3/4 inches by 2 5/8 inches). The depth is 1.4cm (just over 1/2 inch).
