The Festival of Britain was a major national exhibition held in the Summer of 1951. It was a celebration of British science, technology, industrial design, architecture and the arts and had millions of visitors.
The coin was produced by the Royal Mint in 1951. It is a five shilling coin with King George VI on the back. It is in a green presentation box and comes with the original Festival of Britain paperwork and a gift bag.
Condition
The coin is in very good condition. There is some wear to the box.
Size
The box measures 7cm by 6.8cm (2 3/4 inches by 2 5/8 inches). The depth is 1.4cm (just over 1/2 inch).
