This is a beautiful Sterling Silver Egg Cup from the 1940s. It comes in a lovely gift bag and would be a fantastic present for a new baby, christening or baptism.
It was made by Mappin & Webb and it was Hallmarked in Sheffield in 1944.
The egg cup is shiny Sterling Silver with the Hallmarks and maker’s mark on one side. On the other side it has a pretty etched design with a crown and a sword.
It’s in very good condition. It weighs 53.4g.
It measures 4.3cm diameter (1 5/8 inches). The height is 6cm (just over 2 1/4 inches).
