This is a beautiful 1930s Sterling Silver gravy boat or cream jug. It would be perfect for using as a small gravy boat, to serve a gravy or sauce at a dinner or as a small creamer jug with coffee or tea.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present.
It was made by A L Davenport between 1929 and 1938 and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham. The date letter is worn but is most likely an O for 1938.
The boat has a flat base and a pretty crimped design to the edge. The handle is an elegant loop.
Condition
The silver is shiny with a little tarnish is places. It has a few small dents in places including one on the base that can be seen in the photos.
Size
It's a smaller sized boat or jug, perfect for using to serve cream or milk with tea or coffee, or serving a sauce at dinner. It weighs 58.1g.
It measures 15.5cm in length from the end of the spout to the back of the handle (just over 6 inches). The width is 5.5cm (2 1/8 inches) and the depth is 4.3cm (1 5/8 inches).
