Beeches Vintage
This is a very pretty Antique Solid Silver Jewellery or Rings Box from the early 1900s. It’s a larger size rings box and it would be perfect for storing small items of jewellery in.
It comes in a gift bag and it would be a fantastic and very special present.
It was made by well known Silversmiths Mappin & Webb and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1911.
The box is made of Sterling Silver and has a very pretty engineered pattern on the lid with a blank circular cartouche in the centre. It stands on three feet. The hinge works well and the lid lifts to show an interior with a blue material lining in the base and a gilded inner lid.
It’s in good condition with the silver shiny with just a little tarnish to help show the design. There’s a couple of very small dents in the lid. One leg is bent more than the others so the box is very slightly lopsided when it is on a surface but this is only seen when looking at it at eye level.
One leg has a very small gap at the top where it attaches to the base and the back leg has been repaired although this isn't obvious at all. The material inside is a little worn in places and the material base on the bottom of the box has a small tear. This has been taken into account when pricing.
It weighs 155g. It measures 8.2cm diameter (3 1/4 inches). The height is 5.1cm (2 inches).
