This is a very pretty Antique Solid Silver Rings Box or Jewellery Box from the Edwardian 1900s. It would be perfect for storing small items in such as rings, earrings or pills.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a very special present.
It was made by Henry Matthews and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1907. The maker’s marks and hallmarks are on the rim of the base and lid.
The box is made of Sterling Silver and has a beautiful design to the top. The lid lifts to show a lovely gold coloured interior. The hinge works well.
The Silver is shiny with a little tarnish in places. There are some marks to the gold interior and a few dents to the lid that can be seen in the photos.
It weighs 38g.
It measures 7.6cm by 3.2cm (3 inches by 1 1/4 inches). The height is 2cm (just under 1 inch).
