Antique 1796 Georgian Silver Sugar Tongs

This is a beautiful Antique Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs from the late 1700s. 

It was made by Peter and Ann Bateman and is Hallmarked for 1796.

The solid silver sugar nips or tongs have a beautifully elaborate pattern to the outside. It has the Hallmarks and Makers Mark inside. 

Condition

The tongs are in good condition, particularly as they are over 200 years old. There is some tarnish and light scratches to the inside. 

Size

They weigh 32.2g and measure 14.5cm in length (just under 5 3/4 inches).
