Here we have a pretty Antique Victorian Silver Button Hook. It’s quite long and would be ideal to use to fasten hard to reach buttons. It’s a lovely collector’s item.

The maker’s mark and Hallmarks are a bit worn but it’s very likely to be made by Deakin and Francis and Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1897.

The handle is made of Sterling Silver and has a very pretty design to it. The hook is made of carbon steel and has Steel imprinted on the side of it. 

The Silver is shiny with a bit of tarnish. There’s a slight gap on one side of the handle where the Silver meets the steel but it is secure. It does mean the handle is slightly tilted to one side but this is only visible when looking down on the hook. It wouldn’t affect its use.

It measures 24.5cm in length (9 5/8 inches).
