SS Atlantis Silver Plated Pepper Pot
This is a wonderful piece of history. It’s a Silver Plated Pepper Pot from Royal Mail Steam Packet SS Atlantis from the 1930s.
The ship was built in 1913 and named SS Andes. It was renamed SS Atlantis in 1929 and redeployed as a cruise ship. It became a hospital ship in World War 2 and then an emigrant ship afterwards. It was scrapped in 1952.
The Pepper Pot has SS Atlantis with the Royal Mail Steam Packet on the side.
The Silver Plate is shiny with some tarnish in places which adds to the vintage look. There are a number of dints to it, particularly on the lid. The inside has staining from pepper but could easily be used again. There is a small piece of white enamel missing in the flag.
It measures 6.1cm in height (2 3/8 inches).
